First, you need to consider use matched to the size of property you need to clear. A standard two car driveway with about 10 inches of snow can be cleared in about 30 minutes with a Toro 1800-18 inch 12 amp Snow Thrower.
The SnowJoe with a 6.6 amp motor will get the job done easily too but may take you a little longer. SnowJoe also has a larger model as well for heavier or larger jobs. Be sure to buy at least a 100 foot "heavy duty" power cord with any electric power snow thrower. Lack of a suitable power cord can stress the motor and eventually burn it out.
Using your snow thrower soon after the first snowfall is best. Waiting until the snow has had time to set and soggy or icy it can make the job more suitable for a larger gas powered unit.
So, keep these tips in mind.
Review:::
Great Snow Thrower (Toro 18 inch 12 amp Electric Curve)
You only have to look at this 25 pound wonder to know its not a heavy duty snow blower. So don't think it is going to do the job of a huge gas powered rig.
Having said that - I have a 50ft two car wide driveway. It flings 5 inches of snow off that driveway in 10 to 15 min. I love it. I cant wait for more snow. It should have no problem with a foot of snow...
